A Sicilian poem to which we entrust our deepest desires.
The verses of Giuseppe Lodato, once again, give voice to what we keep in our hearts.
The Sicilian language makes everything even more musical: to be read in one breath.

Only poetry can read in our hearts. The verses make the words musical and give voice to what we treasure deeply in sentences full of beauty. We want to share with you this Sicilian poem signed by Giuseppe Lodato, because we think we need to remind ourselves of our desires, our hopes and what we would like for our good. The Sicilian language is a wonderful way to talk about such high and profound topics. We like to think that, through these verses, your wishes can come true.

Giuseppe Lodato was born and raised in Salemi and now lives in Alcamo. He is a doctor of economics and commerce and a Franciscan tertiary. In 2019 he published his first book: “Salemi, a journey into a past imprinted in postcards, verses and stories” (Nova Millennium Romae editions).

Si putìssi, canciàssi, livàssi, mittìssi, vuciàssi;
purtàssi, dassi, fàcissi, turnàssi, dicìssi.

Quantu così fàcissi,
si sulu putissi!
